Dr Professor @ The Helsinki Short Film Festival
I recently visited the opening ceremonies of the Helsinki Short Film Festival where Thesis of Evil was showcased with five other short films. These films were chosen to compete on the new Kettu Movie Award which we told about recently. Winning it would mean getting handed exactly 3000 euros in Jussi Awards Gala in early spring 2012. Thumbs up!
The opening of the Short Film Fest was held for a fully seated cinema room at Theatre Maxim in downtown Helsinki. I’m happy to say that Dr Professor received one of the biggest applause of the evening. After the screenings I took some time to meet people and ask their opinions on camera. Check out the footage below! As the most sharp eyed Finns of you might have noticed even without me saying so, the last of the commentators is the Finnish talk show host Maria Veitola.
After the opening it was time to move on to the party at the nightclub DOM not too far from Theatre Maxim. Due to my untouchable journalistic ethics I didn’t dare to capture this on video but that didn’t stop me completely. This is one of those rare moments in my life where I get to use one of my favourite sayings of the whole English language: ‘to mingle in the crowd’. That’s what I did to gather some more evidence of Dr Professor’s eminent superiority.
The most answered to my inquiry of feelings and comments with flatter. ‘It was amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this in my life! You wanna get in bed with me?’ Well not exactly like this but you get the drift. It was pretty obvious that the audience had especially enjoyed how Thesis of Evil looks.
