He looks like a hippie, but what does he do?
Ilkka works with the After Effects post-production team to create animation and special effects for compositions. He was one of the founding members for the project and played a big part in creating the Motion novel technique since he knew bit more about After Effects than Juuso and Jukka. While spending an exchange year studying Motion Graphics in Ireland, Ilkka came across a technique of creating a 3D-kind-of-feeling from 2D images. When he came back to Finland and had a meeting with Juuso and Jukka in an Irish pub (duh!)and he wanted to join the project immediately.
A little something about yourself?
"I work in a advertising agency during the day and spend the night at the office helping with the movie project. I'm also trying to graduate from school in beginning of June so lots of energy drinks and beer is needed to achieve everything planned."
Why Thesis of Evil?
"Thesis of evil is great opportunity to show people what you can do just with small group of talented people, little money and big dreams. This project is a great work of art from people who spend most of their time and money for the movie. With the motion novel technique we are able to create things that would be impossible to do with normal movie techniques. I've had so many awesome moments with this project, whether it was creating something nice for the project or just chilling around in the office having a laugh and eating fast food while making fun of other people in the project. Yea, you heard me cockface…"
How was your life like before Thesis of Evil?
"Spending my time, watching the days go by, feeling so small, I stare at the wall. Leave a whisper on my pillow... I cried myself to sleep.
Regarding previous media projects, I've been working with short movies and traditional graphic design. I've also been working with Jukka and Juuso in other projects earlier so I knew that this project would be as professional as the other ones (except for the indian music video we made a few years back…)"
