New Website Look For Evil

Even the world’s most evil doctor must evolve. That is exactly why our website looks a wee bit different than before. The most notable change considering the web page as a whole is the plain and simple layout compared to the one before. There’s nothing more than you absolutely positively need. This was the starting point for our lead 3D artist and web designer Ville V. Vanninen after he had decided to do a face lift. Not to himself, the page.

 

   - In my opinion there was too much stuff on the old layout; it was too much like a   commercial. I prefer a minimalistic look pretty much in everything and I wanted to create a more simple and plain layout for the site too.  

 

Ville states that one of the biggest challenges after stripping down (again the page) was to decide which objects need to be on display. 

 

   - It was sort of like throwing spaghetti on the wall and see which bits stick.

 

That’s probably the most extraordinary gastronomical metaphor ever and still makes you crave for spaghetti, doesn’t it? 

 

Being simple doesn’t mean that you have to look ugly and boring, I mean look at us. The same goes with the site. Try and glide your cursor on a link and you see a glimpse of an eerie glow. Notice how the glow smoothly fades away. Like Dr. Professor vaporizes every last one of his victims Ville also pays attention to detail. 

 

Another beautiful addition is the parallax effect. In plain English this means that the different layers of graphics move in different pace. In even plainer English this means that for example the looming Dr Professor on the right is moving in different pace than the text. For some of us this provided amusement for hours.

 

One of the most notable changes is also the Dr. Professor’s Tour of Destruction emblazoning the front page. This aptly named feature is a clip from the movie and a possibility to request the Thesis of Evil to your country. You really should grab the chance because it helps us with both theater and online screening negotiations. You should also do this if you want to live to see another day and not get fed to Dr Professor’s pet sharks.

 

What else is new? Behold! There is a completely new video gallery where you can enjoy our teasers over and over again until you just can’t wait to get the actual movie. Also now you can share every page of the website which wasn’t an option before.

  

What kind of emotions did the renewal spur Ville?

 

   - At times I felt downright desperate. ‘Is there even any sense in this?’ and so on. I was forced to do my thing cost efficiently and it was a bit difficult to split myself into many and do everything by myself.

 

Even though Ville failed to grow a helping pair of tentacles, he did good with the site and is pleased with the result - to be honest so are the rest of us. At this point we want to emphasize that the old website represented something amazing. Ville saw a chance to evolve it and he took it. 

 

What our crooked hearts desire the most at the moment is that you, our dearest fans, would comment these new features and make suggestions of what you would like us to add or create. Oh and remember to request! Your life might depend on it...unless getting incinerated by DP is your cup of tea!
